Teachers play such an important in shaping the lives of our children. After the last couple of years, there is a heightened sense of appreciation for all the hard work teachers do to provide education, guidance, inspiration, and to shape the future for our children.
A thoughtful handwritten thank you card, a gift card, or school supplies are all fun gifts that are often requested by teachers. As the end of the school year approaches, I like to work with my children to make a handmade item or card and pair it with something that is fun and relaxing for teachers to use in the summer.
Here are some teacher gift ideas:
Recycled Tea Tin Herb Planter & Lemon Herb Dressing Recipe – a garden inspired gift for summer. Use recycled materials, like an old tea tin, place in some fresh herbs that you have grown or from a local garden center. Then, attach a simple lemon herb dressing recipe for fun salads all summer long!
Handmade Macrame Flower Keychain & Lip Jellie – I’ve been enjoying making macrame gifts over the last year. I followed a simple flower pattern to create this keychain. I added a Beautycounter lip jellie for a fun little gift that teachers can add to their beach/pool bag in the summer. Or, they can keep for their teacher tote, gym bag or purse.
Beach Towel and Sunscreen Stick – Pair a beach towel with a clean sunscreen stick and your teacher will be ready for relaxing at the beach or pool over summer break. I love Turkish towels because they are easy to pack and dry quickly. But, you can grab a towel at Target too! I have not found anything on the market like the Countersun Mineral Sunscreen Stick. It is a clean, mineral sunscreen (SPF30) goes on smooth, no white cast, and has a pleasant citrus scent.
Set of Flower Bath Bombs – Teachers could really use a little self-care time during their summer break. A three pack of lavender scented mini flower bath bombs are a perfect gift to encourage teachers to take time to relax.
Gift Card and Handmade Watercolor Card – One of the most requested items for teachers is gift cards. Grab a gift card from Amazon, Target, Starbucks or a local smoothie shop, and add a handmade card with a thank you note. Our favorite is to make watercolor thank you notes with flower designs!
Tumbler and Gift Card for Local Smoothie – I have been using this Simply Modern Tumbler for a year and I like it. It comes with two lids. I replaced the straw with a stainless steel straw. We also have Hydro Flask and Swell. Yeti and Stanley are also popular brands. Add a gift card for a smoothie or green juice and it is a fun treat for teachers to enjoy in the summer.
Most important of all saying thank you to your teachers makes them truly understand how much we appreciate their patience, dedication and support.
