A gentler, more sustainable approach to feeling better
January did not start with a dramatic reset for me. It started with consistency.
Over the last several months, I have been building habits that support my body at this stage of life, and January has been about continuing what works rather than chasing something new. A mix of movement that feels good, simple nourishment, and tools that make healthy choices easier on busy days.
If you are craving a wellness glow up that feels realistic and supportive, this is what has been keeping me on track lately.
Movement That Supports Your Body
Movement has stayed varied and flexible. Some days it is a full gym class. Other days it is a walk, Pilates at home, or Peloton strength squeezed in between errands.
Weighted vest for walking
I started using a weighted vest last year and still love it. I wear it on several walks per week while hitting around 10,000 steps a day. It adds gentle resistance, supports bone health, and makes walking feel more effective without turning it into something intense.
Bala ankle weights
These are new to me and I have been incorporating them into Pilates workouts. They add just enough challenge to slow, controlled movements and help build strength without strain.
Strength training with dumbbells
I have been increasing weights gradually at the gym and noticing real strength gains. When I cannot make it to a class, Peloton strength workouts help me stay consistent.
Manduka yoga mat
Mine has been going strong for years and has never let me down. It is not slippery, even during hot yoga classes. This season, one of the newer colors caught my eye and reminded me how much I appreciate investing in quality pieces that last.
Hydration That Actually Feels Good
Hydration is one of those things that sounds simple but can be surprisingly hard to get right.
Pique electrolytes
I drink Pique electrolytes daily. I have tried many brands and keep coming back to these because they are not salty, not overly sweet, and do not have a stevia aftertaste. They feel clean and easy to drink, which makes consistency simple.
Owala water bottle
This water bottle goes everywhere with me. It does not leak, comes in fun colors, and is easy to clean. Small things like this make staying hydrated feel effortless.
Simple Nutrition Support
I focus mostly on whole foods, but I also use a few tools that make nourishing myself easier.
Warm lemon water with apple cider vinegar
Every morning starts with a glass of warm lemon water and a splash of apple cider vinegar. It is a simple ritual that helps me feel grounded and ready for the day.
Instant Pot
I use this every week. Hard boiled eggs, quick soups, and simple meals come together fast, which makes eating well much more manageable.
Wonder Oven
I literally use this every day. It has been a huge time saver for meal prep and healthier recipes. It makes cooking feel less overwhelming, especially on busy nights.
Wellness Supplements That Support, Not Overwhelm
I keep supplements simple and intentional.
Daily wellness mix
I use a combination of I66 Collagen for skin, I70 Beauty Molecule for hair and nails, and I01 Camu Camu to support immunity. It blends easily into my routine and feels supportive rather than excessive.
Creatine gummies
Creatine is one of the most researched supplements and can be incredibly beneficial for perimenopausal women. I tried a couple of creatine powders last year and they left me feeling bloated. Over the last month, I have been taking Create Wellness creatine gummies and they have felt much gentler on my stomach while still offering the benefits.
Workout Wear That Holds Up
When movement is part of your daily life, what you wear matters.
Moisture wicking workout gear
I have tried many brands over the years, but I still cannot beat Lululemon WunderUnder SmoothCover and WunderTrain tank for longevity. It holds up beautifully, does not pill, offers good compression, and stays comfortable through everything from walking to strength training to Pilates.
A Wellness Glow Up That Lasts
This January wellness glow up has not been about perfection. It has been about choosing tools and habits that support consistency and make me feel better in my body.
If you are navigating your own version of a wellness reset, let it be gentle. Let it be supportive. Let it fit your real life.
Small, steady choices add up. And when wellness feels good, it becomes something you want to return to, not something you have to force.
Here’s to a glow up that lasts well beyond January.
